At present, there are many kinds of proximity switches, and the internal requirements of various indicators should be comprehensively considered when selecting them. Usually, the working voltage is easy to meet, but the load current is easy to be ignored. There are various forms of load, including DC and AC, and the resistance is also large and small. If the output type of load and proximity switch do not match, it is easy to damage the proximity switch.

For example, select a proximity switch to control the relay. The power supply voltage of the proximity switch is AC220V and the current is 200mA. The coil voltage of the relay is also AC220V. The power is 12V · a during normal operation and 75V · a during startup. If you only consider the situation during normal operation, it seems that there is no problem. However, our in-depth analysis will see that the coil current of the relay is very large at startup, which has exceeded 200mA. If the on-off frequency is very high, it is bound to shorten the service life of the proximity switch or directly damage the switching elements. In this case, it is best to use the proximity switch with larger output current.
